About Kings & Prophets (KP) Study Series 2026-2027

(Selected Titles)

Monday’s class began 2026 by stepping into the world of "kings without the prophets" — and now, in a full‑circle moment, they’ve chosen to complete Precept’s exciting Kings and Prophets series with the much‑beloved minor prophets.

So as we flow into 2027, the class will be exploring the unshakeable truth proclaimed through "prophets without the kings" — voices that stand alone, yet thunder with covenant conviction, compassion, and hope.

Don’t be fooled by its label. Minor in reference, but worthy of major deference.​​

Journey with Obadiah, Joel, Amos, Hosea, Micah, Nahum & Habbakuk—prophets who sometimes even embodied God's messages to His people . Their words reveal God’s mercy, justice, holiness, wrath, and above all, His longsuffering love. Be encouraged that our sovereign God, who “will neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4), is always at work among His people.

12 "minor" prophets (we are studying 6).

One unchanging God. Countless reminders that though judgment is real, His mercy is greater still.

This is a must‑study for every follower of Christ.

Yes, there will be exasperating, hair‑pulling moments of repeated narratives. But hang on the edge of your seat—because in the midst of confrontation and suffering, in the calls to repentance, you’ll behold the promises of restoration. And most of all, every message ultimately points us forward to Christ Jesus—the Saviour we desperately need, and the only One who fulfills every hope.

About This Study

1. Obadiah — Pride Brought Low  In the shortest book of the Old Testament, Obadiah declares that pride always collapses. But even in judgment, God is faithful to restore His people and secure their future.
   

2. Joel — Renewal After Ruin From locust plagues to promises of the Spirit, Joel shows that repentance opens the door to restoration. God doesn’t just patch up the broken—He pours out His Spirit to bring new life.

Obadiah and Joel prophesied about the judgment of all the nations in the coming day of the Lord. Edom was singled out by Obadiah because of how they treated Israel. Who would be spared? What would happen to Edom? Or to you?

In these last days, as we wait for the Day of the Lord, we should remember that God is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He calls people to return to Him with their whole heart.
