About This Study
Micah, Nahum & Habakkuk — UNDERSTANDING THE ANGER OF GOD
Micah — Hope in the Shepherd King
Micah’s famous call—act justly, love mercy, walk humbly—still challenges us today. He points us to the Shepherd King who brings peace, justice, and lasting hope.
Nahum — Justice and Comfort
Nahum proclaims God’s judgment against cruel oppressors, but also His comfort for the faithful. It’s a reminder that God sees injustice and will not let evil have the last word.
Habakkuk — Faith in the Questions
Habakkuk wrestles honestly with God about suffering and injustice. His journey ends with trust: “The righteous will live by faith.” A prophet for anyone who has ever asked “why?”
These were the last prophets to the Southern Kingdom of Judah before Judah was taken captive to Babylon. Each prophet cried out to a nation which needed to heed the Word of the Lord about judgment. Any nation, Assyria or Judah, which chose to worship idols rather than God, would be judged by God unless they turned to Him in repentance, but God would warn them first.
These three prophets will teach you how God deals with those who turn away from Him and how He gives a warning to turn to Him rather than perish.

About Kings & Prophets (KP) Study Series 2026-2027
(Selected Titles)
The Journey Continues: From Kings to Prophets
Monday's class began 2026 by stepping into the world of "kings without the prophets" and now, in a full-circle moment, they have chosen to complete Precept's much-loved Kings and Prophets series with the Minor Prophets.
As we journey into 2027, we will explore the unshakeable truths proclaimed through "prophets without the kings" - voices that may stand alone, yet thunder with covenant conviction, compassion, and hope.
The Messengers: Minor in Name, Major in Message
Don't be fooled by the label. Minor in reference, but worthy of major deference.
Journey with Obadiah, Joel, Amos, Hosea, Micah, Nahum, and Habakkuk - prophets who sometimes embodied God's message to His people.
Through their words, we discover God's mercy, justice, holiness, wrath, and above all, His longsuffering love.
Be encouraged that our sovereign God, who "will neither slumber nor sleep" (Psalm 121:4), is always at work among His people.
The Reminder: One Unchanging God
12 "minor" prophets. (We're finishing the final 5!)
One unchanging God.
Countless reminders that though judgment is real, His mercy is greater still.
This is a must-study for every follower of Christ.
The Promise: Restoration Through Christ
Yes, there will be exasperating, hair-pulling moments as familiar patterns repeat themselves. But stay on the edge of your seat, because amidst confrontation and suffering, and in the calls to repentance, you'll behold God's promises of restoration.
Most importantly, every message ultimately points us to Christ Jesus - the Saviour we desperately need and the only One who fulfills every hope.
